A Proud Day!

Today I took my Nursing Final for my LPN year of nursing! I MADE IT!!! It was a bitter sweet day, I saw many tears shed today, some for victory, and some for not making it. I know how hard all of us worked for this! I want to say congrats to everyone that was with me in this program. You all succeeded when it came to sacrificing your families and lives to try to better yourselves, I applaud you for that! Aside from our families, no one knows how hard this really is!

Being able to be the President of our Nursing Class has been amazing! I only hope I'm lucky enough to hold the position next year as well!

Now........... two weeks off, then back to the books! Looking forward to a year from now, when I have my RN! Wow! Time Flies!

So pretty much, see ya in a year Blogger!

Ohhhh wait!!! The best thing of my day today was picking up Tristan and telling him I passed my test! He jumped in my arms, and gave me more stickers than you could ever imagine. Because I did a good job! Him being proud of me is the best thing in the world!

Along for the Ride

Things have been crazy for us lately, but in a good way.

I love school and everything it entails! I am getting anxious with graduation for LPN coming in May. I am walking in the LPN graduation even though I am going on to RN, well honestly....... because I can, and I earned that. I do get a little stir crazy! I feel like I'm neglecting the things I love lately, but I know its a sacrifice that will pay off. I have really been missing friends! I have taken on the challenge of bar tending and its nice way to make some cash, and just be around people!

We have put on several Legion shows lately, and I am always glad to see everyone who comes out to support local music! This is not only a way to draw our community close, its a way to also support its economy in these rough times! We are very thankful to Newton Americal Legion for all their hospitality.

Will is the new drummer for Madam X and makes his debut at Saturday Night's Shrine Night. He will playing at the Eagles if you want to check out some rocking music! He's pretty nice to look at too! <3 He is still doing body work up at Jay's Hobby Shop, and anything else hes roped into! He's excited to get started laying the flooring for my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Donald! So between band practice, work, side jobs, and being boyfriend of the year, I don't know how that man finds time to sleep! I'm a lucky woman!

Tristan never ceases to amaze me in every way possible. My little boy is the smartest cutest thing on the planet! He is my drive for all this craziness! That smile warms my soul! I love hearing the randomness that is his youth telling me, "Mommy this is sooo frustrating" or "haha Mommy, I was being difficult"! He is growing so much, and is a terror to a pair of jeans. Brand new Jeans seem to ALWAYS get ripped out in the right knee first, with the left quickly behind.

We lost our cat Bella a few weeks ago, and it was traumatizing, Tristan was really concerned! His Dad even let him call one day to check to see if she was home yet. How sweet. She came back home mysteriously after a week! We couldn't of been happier!

That about raps it up for now! Ashley

Good Cheer

As the holidays have begun, I can't help but to feel intoxicated by every single moment. The crisp days, the smells of foods and Cinnamon, the sparkle and glitter, the twinkling lights in the windows. I love it all.

I realized something the other day. I haven't stopped to take in everything around me, and when I did, it hit me like a ton of bricks. AshleyIts time to enjoy what we have! You never really know how long this precious time will last.

Looking up...

Ya know, lately I have been having some unually good luck.

  • I am doing great in nursing, and I am enjoying it too! Only two more tests and a final left this semester!
  • Will recently got a better job at Effingham Truck Sales. His income ensures that I am able to recieve my education. I am thankful every day for that man! (Except in the mornings when no one is safe to speak to me :)
  • Tristan.... my baby, watching him growing is sooo amazing. On a side note, now he is going to continue going to HeadStart because Travis agreed to let him go, and made all the arrangements for the bus.
  • Thank You Travis, thank you. Its great to get along, seriously, its great, but not just for me, for Tristan. Im not perfect by any means and when you say things that make me angry I lash out at you because I hurt. I hurt that two people who shared so much time and energy together can't be civil. Hopefully we are growing right along with our son.
  • Tuesday was such an amazing day, I (who never buys lottery tickets) bought a bingo ticket and won $20.
  • Mom applied for the nursing program, and I am soooo proud of her for everything she has accomplished, I love you Momma!
  • I attended Dollar Beer Night for the first time in forever, which was much needed.... I have the best friends anyone could ask for!

So, now that I have officially jinked myself I hope this luck doesn't change! I could really get used to this.

Goodbye Grandma Maggie

Tristan's Great Grandma Margaret Curtright passed away this weekend. She was such a wonderful loving caring person, and we will miss her dearly.
